Where the confusion comes from
Chiniot is a city in Punjab, Pakistan, famous for centuries of woodworking. 'Chinioti' is simply the Urdu/Punjabi adjective form — furniture 'from' or 'of' Chiniot — so both terms are used interchangeably in search and in everyday speech.
Why Chiniot became a furniture hub
Chiniot's location along the Chenab River gave early craftsmen access to quality timber and trade routes, and generations of apprenticeship kept hand-carving techniques alive and refined.
What to look for regardless of the term
Whichever term is used, genuine Chiniot-style furniture should be solid sheesham or tali wood with hand-carved (not machine-stamped) detailing — the wood and craftsmanship matter more than the exact wording.
